MY STORY

Sunshine & Shade

I was lucky I guess.  I'm grateful now.  Considering the "swashbuckler" archetype in me, the whole pirate story makes sense.  My father was in the Navy for 30 years, stationed in San Diego.  My father excited me with tales of adventure, stories from the sea, gifts, and dancing dolls from faraway lands.

Early Years

Having a strong sense of God isn't new for me. I have a definite sense of mission now, one that whispers, "Let go. Follow where the journey leads."

I watched the barges come and go on the Cumberland River in Clarksville, TN where I attended college.  I felt a deep pull inside me, the same pull I felt as a little girl watching Aircraft Carriers sail out to sea.

I was baptized in the Cumberland River. It so happens that Tennessee is in the Bible Belt.  I was also baptized as a baby at Mission San Luis Obispo.  That makes 2 baptisms and a forever plan.

Middle Years

When old ways of seeing just don't work, it's time to see another side to life.  It's time for another perspective.

There is a side to life that runs on kindness, one that values all people, men, women, and children as sacred.

Things didn't seem to go right a lot of the time.  Life was full of difficult circumstances.

Mission

Having a strong sense of God isn't new for me.

I have a definite sense of mission now, one that whispers, "Let go.  Follow where the journey leads."

I watched the barges come and go on the Cumberland River in Clarksville, TN, where I attended college.  I felt a deep pull inside me, the same pull I felt as a little girl watching the Naval Aircraft Carriers sail out to sea.

I was baptized in the Cumberland River, noting that Tennessee in the Bible Belt.  As a newborn, I was baptized at the Mission San Luis Obispo.  It a path for "born again" Christians.
